Beaches And Water Sports
San Diego is known for its beaches, both for swimming and surfing. In a very general sense, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are popular with the young adult crowd; La Jolla Cove for older adults and families; Mission Bay beaches for very young children; and the island of Coronado to escape the crowds. You can also rent sailboats, wind surf, and rent other personal water craft. Day trips to watch whales (seasonal) or deep sea fish are available. Dinner cruises around the bay are available. A ferry runs to Coronado Island for pedestrians and bicycles. An early 20th century roller coaster still operates at Mission Beach. All within 30 minutes.
Knotts Soak City
